Getting a Tax Identification Number – Individuals

To apply for a Tax identification Number (TIN), you must have to fill in Form 1 – for Individuals and Form 2 – for Sole Traders and Small Business Tax. Also, provide one of the following valid identifications:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Current Tongan Passport or International Passport with Visa page copied
  • Current driver’s license
  • Tonga National ID
  • Tonga National ID

We will send confirmation of your TIN within 3 to 5 working days of receiving the Application Form and one valid ID.

Getting a Tax Identification Number – Non-Individuals

To apply for a TIN for non-Individuals such as Company, Partnership and Others, you must have to fill in Form 3 – for non-Individuals. Also, provide one of the following valid identifications:

  • Certificate of incorporation (for companies)
  • Certificate of Business Licenses
  • Deed of Trust (for Trusts) or deed of Partnership (for Partnerships)
  • Certificate of incorporation (for incorporated societies)

What if I lose my Tax Identification Number:

If you lose your Tax Identification Number (TIN), the steps to recover it as the following process to help you:

  1. Contact Us:
  • Please give us a call at +676 26432 or +676 7400550 to assist you or email us at cst@revenue.gov.to
  • Do provide us your personal identification information to verify your identity, this may include details such as your full name, date of birth, address and any other information required.
  1. Visit us in Person:
  • You can walk in our office to request your TIN confirmation at Tungi Colonnade Building, 1st Floor at Taufa’ahau Rd, Nuku’alofa. If this is the case, bring valid identification documents such as a Tonga National ID, Passport or other documents.
