Foreword from the Honorable Minister
It is my pleasure to extend my greetings to all stakeholders, development partners and the people of Tonga through the official website of the Ministry of Revenue and Customs.
The Ministry plays a critical role in safeguarding national revenue and supporting Government’s ability to deliver essential services. A strong and modern revenue and customs system is fundamental to sustainable economic growth and national development.
As Minister, I fully support the Ministry’s digital transformation agenda. The modernization of the Electronic Sales Register System (ESRS) and the ongoing ICT upgrades represent significant steps toward strengthening transparency, improving compliance and enhancing service delivery to taxpayers and traders.
These reforms are not only technological improvements — they are investments in accountability, efficiency and public trust.
I commend the leadership and staff of the Ministry for their dedication and professionalism, and I look forward to working together to build a resilient, transparent and future-ready revenue and customs administration for Tonga.
